So this year I am sharing it with you. Happy 2011!

Father, it is written in Your Word that You are the Author of Life, the Creator of my heart, the Lover of my soul, my Savior and Redeemer. Today I find myself at the beginning of a new year. Lord, I don’t want to make the same old resolution. Really all I want is more and more of You! So today I choose to start anew. I choose to make You Lord of my life. Your Word tells me that in You, I am a new creation. I have been bought at a great price…the price of Your Son’s precious blood. Old things are gone and all things become new in Your Son’s powerful name. Help me believe this Lord, believe it with all my heart.

Today I dedicate myself to You and present each part as a living sacrifice, holy and well pleasing to You. I do this not in my own strength but in Yours. I boldly ask You, through the power of Your Holy Spirit, to create in me the power and desire to will and to work for Your good pleasure. I know You have great plans for me…plans to prosper and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. Today with great anticipation I receive those plans and the gifts and talents which You have given me to accomplish those plans.

Allow my life to reflect You in every way. Allow me to lovingly live out and express Truth in all I say and do. Help me to live purposefully and accurately, not as unwise but as wise. Whatever I do in word or deed, help me to do it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in complete and total dependence on Him. Thank You, Father, that You will be faithful to complete what You have started in me. To You be all glory and honor and praise. Amen.

Written by Wendy Blight
Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-40358666948649218752009-11-25T13:48:00.004-05:002009-11-25T14:27:19.899-05:00A random list of things we are Thankful for!

A beautiful song

A comfortable chair/couch

A cool breeze

A gentle rain

A good book to read

A wonderful husband/wife

Loving parents

A soft pillow

A warm blanket

A scenic drive

Air conditioning on hot summer days

Heat on Cold Winter nights

Beaches

Being able to pay the bills

Children laughing

Christmas morning

Church

Compliments

Computers that work( Mac's)

Cooing Babies

All things Chocolate

Dishwashers

Diversity

Fairness

Crackling fire in a fireplace

Freedom of religion

Freedom of speech

Fresh ideas

Good conversation

Good friends

Good health

Good movies

Good teachers

Grace

Grandparents

GPS

High-speed Internet access

Honest people

Hugs

Indoor plumbing

Kind men/women

Kittens

Laughter

Live Christmas trees

Morning coffee/tea/hot chocolate

Oppertunities to serve

Parking spaces near the front

Pictures

Polite drivers

Porch swings

Prayer

Pregnant women

Puppies

Quiet mornings

Rainbows

Salvation

Shade trees

Strong Leaders

Sisters and Brothers

Smiles

Snow covered mountains

Snowflakes

Sunrises

Sunsets

Sunday morning Sermons that hit you in the gut

Thanksgiving dinner

The color of autumn leaves

The ocean

The words "I love you"

The words " I am proud of you"

The lessons learned through trials

True friends

Uninterrupted dinners

Hot showers

Grow Groups

White puffy clouds

A God who Loves us

A night at the movies

A phone call from a friend

A job that I still enjoy

A good hair cut

Forgiveness

Exercise

A large variety of foods

having so many things to be thankful for that I have to stop making a list!!!!

Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-51450376274357101792009-07-20T21:03:00.003-04:002009-07-20T21:42:24.685-04:00Celebrating 5 wonderful years!<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; Can you believe it has been 5 years? It seems like it was only yesterday that we were getting ready for our wedding. To celebrate, we took a little trip together to Port Clinton, Ohio.

We stayed at a little camp ground in Port Clinton called Shade Acres. It was a quiet little campground but was surprisingly clean and quiet. That was extremely important to me.

Over the weekend we visited several little places in Port Clinton, Marblehead, Put-in-Bay, and Kelleys Island. There were Wineries to visit, Many trails to hike, Boats to ride, lighthouses to visit, and many other local landmarks to enjoy. Most importantly though, we got to spend the weekend doing what we love the most, spending time together making new memories and remembering all the wonderful things we have gotten to do, places we've visited, and things we have accomplished so far in our life together. We are so wonderfully blessed.

So, what is in store for the next 5 years? That is a wonderful question...we are thinking about that as well. We know what we are hoping and Praying for, but I guess we will Just have to see what God has in store for us.Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-21432972929220086622009-07-03T11:41:00.003-04:002009-07-03T12:13:13.612-04:00For the Love of CreationThis post is going to be simple. I am going to let the pictures talk for them selves after a simple explanation.

The Meyer family vacation in Avon, NC has become a tradition that we all love to love. Although we go to the same house, sit on the same beach, visit the same sites, and enjoy roughly the same foods while we are there, there is one thing that we all agree on.

Creation is always amazing and worth taking the time to admire. It is always evident how small we all are when we stand in the ocean and get slammed into the sand by a big wave and how Big God is to have created all the things we admire at the ocean.

So, while there are pictures floating around of all our beautiful faces...these pictures show some of the true beauties we got to experience on family vacation. WE ARE SO BLESSED!

<img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; These wonderful little treats are a donut/apple fritter thing that is HUGE. They come from a little Bakery called the Orange Blossom Bakery in Buxton, North Carolina! It is a little hole-in-the-wall place but they are the best things! If they were not almost $5 a piece, I would have to have one every day I am here! So, if you are ever on the Outer Banks and planning a trip to the Hatteras Light House, find this bakery and enjoy!! Then you will understand what I mean.Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-65580375742222201072009-06-18T20:08:00.003-04:002009-06-18T21:20:02.846-04:00
There is a theme that surfaces at every graduation ceremony be it from high school or college. CHANGE. It is during that time in ones life that each person becomes increasingly aware of the inevitability of Change. When I left High School 10 years ago I was certain that Change would happen, be it for the good or otherwise. It is easy to point out changes that have taken place in retrospect. And while I can list some of those bigger changes that have occurred in my own life, I had only on occasion thought about the changes that might have taken place in the lives of those that I went to school with.

Nothing makes one think of these things more than a reunion. So, Chip and I packed up the new Escape and made our way to the Tionesta, Pennsylvania.

The process of getting ready for this reunion was a bit of a stressor for me. 10 years away from this group of people, and the rural lifestyle had me going crazy about what I should wear, what Chip should wear, what I should take, and what pictures I should submit from the ten years we’d all been apart.

Turns out, I should have just remembered what we were all like before we left high school and let that inspire my decisions. I mean... A rural small town, a reunion at a horse ranch…I should have figured it was going to be a pretty casual affair.

Here are a few observations from my reunion.
1. It’s true that a shift in appearance has occurred. People who where once very thin are not so anymore. People who were larger are now smaller. Different haircuts change a persons face. But when you find a familiar face from across the room you automatically think of that person just as you did 10 years ago.
2. Those people who were the best of friends in High School are still the best of friends even though miles separate them.
3. People are more considerate of their family time. Every one of us that traveled back to our hometown was thankful for an opportunity to see our family members. Those with Children were most excited about having a weekend to allow their children some quality grandparent time.
4. You can take someone out of the small town, but it is true that the small town never really leaves people.
5. You never really forget your first crush.
6. Pictures are a priceless thing to help one remember as time goes by.

I think the thing that surprised me the most about the reunion was that people were more concerned about how happy and healthy everyone was. Not that they weren’t inquiring about what we are doing and where we are living but that those things were less important than health and happiness. (Which of course they are!)

Anyhow…I am really thankful that I grew up with the small group of people that I did because even after 10 years passing, hanging out with them was like old times. I am beginning to realize more and more how unique that is and I wouldn’t change it for anything!

So, Class of 1999 if you are reading this, Thank you for being the awesome people you are and I look forward to staying in touch and getting together again sometime soon!Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-78316776960587744752009-06-11T15:47:00.005-04:002009-06-11T16:11:09.105-04:00stay tuned!!!

Hello Friends and family!

I just wanted you all to know that I haven't forgotten my blog...there just hasn't been anything all that exciting happening for me to post about....but as things usually happen all at once for us there is a bunch of things coming up that I will post about for you all to see. Here are the highlights of things to come:

Marcia's 10 year high-school reunion( a weekend visit to Tionesta)

Vacation to the Ocean( annual Meyer Outer Banks trip)

Camping with our small group ( The Parker Farm in Southern Ohio)

Amy's Wedding shower/ 4th of July weekend extravaganza ( Back to Pennsylvania...locations still not completely known by me)

Chip and I's 5th wedding Anniversary

AND THIS IS ALL GOING TO HAPPEN BY THE MIDDLE OF JULY!! OUR RUNNING SHOES ARE ON!!

Then in August we have Marina and Jame's wedding and vacation to Pigeon Forge TN with Brad and Rachel. These are just the things that are already on my schedule. There is a potential for more.

This is not to say that there hasn't been some fun things happening. We bought a newer car in March which has freed us up a little as far as travel goes. Been home to PA a couple times...Easter, Marina's wedding shower, and Marina and Irina's graduation.
We went camping in Ohio Amish country with Brad and Rachel in their camper for a weekend. That was super fun. Took a couple day trips to Hocking Hills to see the different water falls and hike on some of the trails. There have been many days of hanging out with our ever so cute nephew as well as visits from several friends and family members.

Look forward to more fun and exciting things!Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-64367894246596706742009-02-26T20:13:00.002-05:002009-02-26T21:27:32.338-05:00On the Road to 30When I was younger, I remember thinking that 30 was old. I couldn't imagine being thirty. I made fun of people as they turned thirty and mocked them for getting old. I also remember feeling like people who were turning 30 were so well off. They had money, and jobs, and friends, and were always going to parties and hanging out with their friends. They didn't have to go to school anymore. I thought this was awsome...cause at the time all I knew was skewed by lack of experience in life.
28 feels old to me. There are so many monumental things happening in life...including friends and family getting married, people everywhere having babies, people taking good jobs, people going back to school for second careers...the scheduling of a 10 year high school reunion. Where does time go. Really!!
I know the saying goes " your Only as old as you feel" and while I would like to consider myself a young person, I do not feel young anymore and the events of a birthday don't do anything to make a person feel any younger...they actually make you feel older...because as you get older birthdays become less of a special day and more of a day like any other day. It's unfortunate but true. I do appreciate the family and friends that take the time to make my birthday special. It was!! And for all of you who are getting old...I understand!!!Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-55117272165352789482008-12-20T12:59:00.002-05:002008-12-20T13:39:49.816-05:00A song with HistoryThis Christmas I bought the casting Crowns Christmas Album. The first track on the album is "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day". This carol is not a new song to me, however listening to this beautiful rendition of the carol got me to thinking about the origin of the song so I went searching for answers and here is what I found.

The lyrics for the song were composed by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow on December 25, 1864. The piece was originally a poem containing references to the American Civil War. At the time the poem was written, America was months away from Lee's surrender to Grant and the poem reflected the years of despair brought by the war. However the most beautiful part of the poem, and now the song was it's conclusion which reminds readers and listeners of a hope for triumphant peace.
Luke 2:10. " Glory to God in the Highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men." I don't know that I personally have ever really felt the despair of a war...but there are people in the world who feel it every day and my prayer this Christmas is for them...that they may find the hope of Jesus and through Him Peace.
Below are the Lyrics to " I heard the Bells on Christmas Day" as performed by Casting Crowns. If you get a chance, listen to the song again. It is a beautiful.

" I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day"

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men

And the bells are ringing
Like a choir they're singing
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men

But the bells are ringing
Like a choir singing
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, good will to men

Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men

Then ringing singing on its way

The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men

And the bells they're ringing
Like a choir they're singing
And with our hearts we'll hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Do you hear the bells they're ringing?
The life the angels singing
Open up your heart and hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Peace on earth, Peace on earth
Peace on earth, Good will to men
Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-79151564039738897522008-11-17T13:35:00.002-05:002008-11-17T13:49:44.265-05:00And so it ReturnsThis morning when I woke up... I had the feeling that I just didn't want to get out of bed. You know how it is. There are some days that you just think staying wrapped up in a pile of blankets is a better idea and you just cannot nail down a reason why. Well, soon after I had this thought my sweet early-rising husband entered our room and pointed out that while I was sleeping there was a little bit of snow flying in the sky. It was then clear to me the reason why I didn't want to get out of bed...the cold! It was clear that staying wrapped up in the blankets was a good idea...but soon I heard the sweet laughter of Will playing with Chip and Abbey in the living room and suddenly I felt a surge of energy and I pulled myself out of the pile of blankets to the living room. As I have spent the day with Will playing...the snow has continued to fall. The thought of crawling back into bed has crossed my mind but I am just going to face it...winter is here. Snow is likely. And cold, well it's just part of the deal. And so it returns!Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-619277869499605632008-10-31T16:41:00.002-04:002008-10-31T16:52:34.202-04:00A Halloween Treat For You!

On the outskirts of town, there was a big old pecan tree on a little hill in the town cemetery next to fence. One day, two boys went into the cemetery and filled up a bucket with pecans. They sat down by the tree, out of sight of those walking past the cemetery, and began dividing the nuts. "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one of the boys.

Several of the nuts were dropped and rolled down the hill toward the fence. Another boy, riding his bicycle down the road on the other side of the fence, thought he heard voices in the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard "There's one for you and one for me. One for you and one for me."

He knew just what it was. "Oh my," he shuddered, "It's Satan and the Lord dividing up souls in the cemetery!" He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the corner, he saw an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

"Come here quick!" said the boy. "You won't believe what I just heard. Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up souls!"

The man said, "Beat it, kid. Can't you see it's hard enough for me to walk?" But the boy insisted, so the man hobbled up to the cemetery, and standing by the fence, they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me."

The old man whispered, "Boy, you was telling the truth! Let's see if we can get a look at the devil himself!" Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of Satan. At last they heard, "One for you, one for me, and the last one for you. That's all - now let's go get those nuts by the fence and we'll be done!"

They say the old man made it back to town 5 minutes before the boy on the bike!
-Author Unknown

Happy Halloween!!!!

Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-76015830508730401742008-10-19T14:28:00.004-04:002008-10-19T15:11:37.816-04:00The Greatest Free Show on Earth!!The Circleville Pumpkin Festival. There's no time like fall here in central Ohio and no place celebrates the splendor of the season quite like Circleville Ohio!! People come from all over to experience the 102 year tradition. It is one of the many culinary highlights of our calender every year! I mean, really, who can go wrong with pumpkin burgers, pumpkin chili, pumpkin fudge,pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin cream puff, pumpkin donuts, and well...all things pumpkin!!! Of course that is in addition to the more traditional festival foods like corn dogs, roasted corn on the cob, sausage sandwiches....and I think you get the point! Now before you go worrying about our waist lines...we have mastered the art of pacsing ourselves at this festival. There are certain things that must be eaten immediately, and there are those things that can be purchased and taken home for later consumption.
The other thing that is important to note about this festival is the weather. I mean, really...when you think about it, it doesn't make a lot of sense that this little central Ohio town has an outdoors festival in the middle of October. It is usually 40 degrees and pouring rain during the festival, which has provided some of the best memories of the festival, because if you think the rain stops people from coming out, you would be wrong! This year was the first time we got to experience the festival on a crisp, sunny fall day. What made this experience different, well everything appeared larger and more interesting for sure. There where booths and vendors there that in the rain, one just doesn't have time to look at. There is also the fact that you spend much more time looking up and around, as opposed to keeping your eye on the ground in hopes of not stepping in a large puddle of water, or slip in the mud.
What made the experience that much better, was that we got to share the afternoon with friends. Brad, Rachel, Mark and his girlfriend Amanda joined us for the fun! Here are a few pictures from our time at the festival together.Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-85871687608134190342008-10-13T18:58:00.005-04:002008-10-13T19:53:21.285-04:00Where have I been for 6 months!!!Well, as much as I wanted to keep up with the blogging for family and friends enjoyment, that has taken a backseat to everything else for the past six months. I am not going to go into detail of everything that has been missed over the past six month. I will however hit on some of the important things.

1. We became proud Aunt and Uncle to William Dekker on July 3, 2008. See Nick and Beth's blog for great videos and blogs about baby Will. But here are a few pictures of us with him!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6s003YvdE4dEdoB3tQyZrp7EANiu2Wb63gKCu5EGKg-ewMgytjqKMI0rOLxzJjbRoy5ersmWoWehALQoM_EGIwn6Xms9u42Zj73SU13opzpFp41CCpQwv1eMUaL50VBQhdwE8/s320/DSC00351.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256779156097540978" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKXITn91-stiDunhL7f4JOOPhuS-8jZ6s9kxmu1BQRCnosC7bq6DlvNfOmqyqjySBv32tz4-6L2s5spykGYqf_VCVBR37K4uam4KkpKDIQzS4dBWdBlhz6FwFGYvS7E9xMU-bZ/s320/DSC00355.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256779158895303506" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT6VZQa606_UlRA6R4AupFUlTPfZ0HPQUVE8ZkUq91cFU1ucxA2zhjmik2aqEcLMXBjZXqjLu9b9NKDsF3khwnrUA_2Zc8UQNulObfykSsr3y-3RiqAuJl4EZEuF1_maRXV1gD/s320/DSC00324.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256779163284913682" />

2. We survived the leftover's of Hurricane Ike who supplied us here in Columbus with 60-75 MPH winds, and a loss of power for several days. It also gave us a bunch of downed power lines, tree branches, and whole trees all around the city.

3. We made a quick trip to Ocean City with Brad and Rachel for a little fun and sun, which was a blast while it lasted but resulted in a double ear infection that put me out of commission for a whole week.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LCDuf9272uxud3PUQp7Is9HBZm9NC1EOXOo-wnR2bDvYoJU5UJdZHoznBB28OP43GVm6bQMuwSBGJ2kAkwdLguqXl8xP9Lf2ycxYo3E7-nBFyoOKpJTMjqhKigaNs2En80tv/s320/DSC00318.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256788745543993058" />

4. Chip had another successful annual physical with his cardiologist. Heart is doing great!! Cholesterol is a little high and the doc wants him to loose a little weight, but Praise God, the Heart is looking and sounding, and pumping as it should!!!

5. Last but not least on to the major event that has been keeping me from writing, School!! As You all know I have been working on finishing my BSN. Well, it is official!! I have graduated!!! It has been a long hard road, but I am thankful to be done. Here are a couple pictures from yesterday's graduation.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyUjoZy6_7ZZfkCmrMb1uM-J8XxJStLYI5CRdnoMPyBlUvGKhGZMN1VFQAI95Bs-faKH3zhWUfxygO3a8-H5R7-C2pj3bk1-xesOTGqljN0h73j-TyZr5Sn2XkLU5ZLKO4kUZK/s320/DSC00430.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256786675410416754" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEvqSIztrWPOCSRFYagC60aBZduvKoiDeXuymKVDt5bnm7vBYPMEx36Sa4AZm-QLl_0XKbpuz4EsbMET_EiPe7fSpcay7COGhZUNRuKTYdIZZxUCb_xk87AKUwKMvj6LCy2X9k/s320/DSC00424.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256786681367287058" />

There are a lot of things that happen in 6 months time, but these are the major things! It is tragic for those of us who were enjoying finally getting to go places without spending hundreds of bucks, as well as for all those who worked for the airline. Just another thing to remind us all of the struggling economy!
Even worse, Now I need to find a comparable flight for my mom and Dan who were scheduled to fly with Skybus here next month!Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-60509281482965717672008-03-12T13:06:00.004-04:002008-03-12T13:25:59.467-04:00Blizzard 2008

Okay, so if you are somehow shut off to the world, and didn't hear or experience the weather over the past weekend, you are one of the few. 20 inches of the winter while stuff fell here in Columbus between Friday morning at 9 AM and Saturday night at 4 PM. It was a mess. Most every business in the city closed including most churches on Sunday. We aren't even going to talk about the fact that the city plows are still working their way to some of the side streets 4 days later. In situations like this, all I want to do is sit by my fire with hot chocolate and not move until it's all clear, however...being a nurse does not allow this. I had to work my normal shifts this weekend as well as manditory overtime hours to cover for those who couldn't make it in. Super fun...but I survived. God has kept us safe, and is now working on melting the snow for us! Looking forward to spring even more than usual after the weekend!

So we took some pictures while we were out trying to clear a path for the car and our sidewalk. A lot has happened since our last post and I am not even going to begin to list everything. I will however share some highlights and make a promise to update more diligently!

1. We bought and moved into our first home in December. Awsome! It is a 3 bedroom, two bathroom Cape Cod in the Clintonville area of Columbus! It is conventiently located a little over a mile from Riverside( the hospital I work) and 1.5 miles from Beth and Nick's new home.

2. We are going to be aunt Marcia and Uncle Chip(again). Nick and Beth are expecting their First baby toward the end of June. So, excited about having a baby around to play with!

3.Christmas and New Years Came and went. Both were wonderful, but busy. Wild Goose New Years Festival and Family visiting and traveling and all.

Okay, I think that is all the big stuff I think. We are happy here in our new little home. Kitty is loving all the extra space as are we. It is so nice to have room for people to come and visit. We are not shy about saying that one of the true joys of having this pet is the entertainemnt we get from watching her. Recently our cat was having a temper-tantrum and meowing like crazy at us. In a fit of frustration I threw a throw blanket over her on our couch, and to my surprise, she stopped, curled up under the blanket and went to sleep. We thought this was funny naturally, but the story got even better. For the next two days we left the blanket where it fell and low and behold, didn't Timber make it her little home.

The best part about seeing this was remembering times in my childhood where we would build forts out of blankets and the living room furnature and play for hours. Chip said that he used to do the same so I am guessing that many remember this.So much fun!!Anyhow, I thought I'd shre some pictures of Kitty in her Fort!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV6g57ltShKyfdVgLf_LCTPGqls8ZBS7dCNdPMg2UzhjJwypgvoUyjdpaJ8n_nCvQcpj8rGIBKzEpkpH4llr06K27gB_fne0TwWb9FvhVS3YoDJxWWDP1u2z4J70hi7acereut/s200/100_4301.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5109512797771448962" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNIWvnaT_zKyYdarULC0SMsP-nFWAw-tdPM3Xo_auo8jhhBOnqAsiXG7yyCdlZ1L7wpfONPdgm6Nmw_o6YEgCVEPoqenDMO56_XS2COQtyujPUc87qA2MYIQwSL060TQU4RHqe/s200/100_4303.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5109512814951318162" />Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-88781634761940443512007-08-17T23:51:00.000-04:002007-08-18T00:14:07.487-04:00It's a walk in the park!!Last weekend Chip and I took a day trip to Kennywood Park to spend the day with two of my best friends!! Collaboratively we travelled about 10 hours to spend the day together, some of us on next to no sleep, but those are but small matters when you consider the quality time we got to spend together. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe_oprx42TTBvqZ-H6zavgItRSHl0OUdb3WGoGLP8CzHDv6A_HcNkgOyS07UDDroHqXP5gEMF6-5KN8T0KJWjb51YW_Kd-p7aO3UfqtT08M0-ZQqaUH85GPOoYCiVO5llAXPtd/s200/100B4250.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099886175481631698" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkYXOVlMGTntG9OoPp7Rvf4bbLEqVI3roJkNNcFOnRQ3MzHG3M0rXx7_t3k-AkCMP4FWRB7ZVF8bXePQA5XWBqlSOtAmX6pfEQsz09HK5s_JHvyvLnzqrczZbN2FTRacp9Ma3A/s200/100_4299.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099886175481631714" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP26KKcEIqG3yv7wY589nCnO2TSQu0R1lEVa_MU29Rao2JJ0kn7vqwqWZid9mtEe0Q8Sau-Hd43QJdNEvhab7eayVV9a5ikB-XEyo6hphIHcTkbjcx5ItPsCQp7GTefPq8OXUX/s200/100_4125.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099885668675490690" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFOEAKPxoiiL1ojGK-FNBQzMX_FF4q7jw-kQpIwSnw7FXuNuyoexyRYdxCKqcad_mv93KtfdnZCQudVUxfLXwBak0-EoHboBhKhdX-mCHyucgmU6cNZCe0HyWVM0us-KhKmrfk/s200/100_4136.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099885677265425298" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO0drDqs8GSNmYiiTK8Cjf5-EPS6DnSG3YQVZUhCmYvEfqku_dg1gcjvoQsVDUgkQ44pFdCYUizAM2iH7fsRpYE1NLCdras0pgya9nXvxpbC97XnSctsZ1noOnSwp206w2Y4gn/s200/100_4266.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099885681560392610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9cy7g3c0H2nKBhFN0vGGMy25EnfP3K7r8Dt2Sxq6HOcxIRbcNZvFVaJstkzNGEXYXO2t2sCxzD3Yi_ILJvsKRb8MsqTo3GLCs6WJ5Twsh0q-HC3Vb06un13o8H2GDH-eRM2Ha/s200/100_4280.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099885685855359922" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj2e7IKC6ir1FF6xw6Wvh5DaNjhvXL5NWWMgDvCYhyphenhyphenTAUsWXZYtRPpCeerqHpJBkHS4pk8b6xigkLVa8i7xqq8U9V2gn3Y_ZG1jdHVZfrLrVXJLzi0EDZByAHEmQLC-i91sRO9/s200/100_4292.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099885690150327234" />

We did learn some valuable lessions on this road trip to Pittsburgh ( which of course we should have aready known being that we are both farmiliar with the area and the park). So here are the lessons just so you don't make the same mistakes we did.

1. When going to an ammusement park always bring a change of clothes- rain and water rides tend to make soggy bottoms!
2. Always have back up directions when driving around Pittsburgh because you never know when a highway will be closed and you'll be forced to take an hour detore through every suburb of the city.
3. SLEEP before travel...it makes for less of a crazy drive home
4. In the event that you haven't slept and you are loading up on all the caffine the world has to offer...and it is 80 + degrees out....remember to add water otherwise...Hello dehydration!!!
5. Age is a factor on the motion sickness quota!!
6. There is some added security in old park rides for people of a larger size...the squeeze factor will be sure to hold you in place in the event of something going terrably wrong.
7. Friends are worth traveling for, even if only for afew quality hours!! We Love you Amy, Rosa, and Heidi!!!Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-1327419737007158032007-07-24T21:15:00.000-04:002007-07-25T16:00:00.134-04:00"Baby Steps" to New HampshireMy Mom and stepdad, Dan have lived in New Hampshire for going on 10 years together. Because of school, and then lack of funds...I have never been able to travel up that way to see them. Thanks to the sweet deals provided by the new airline, Skybus...which flies out of Columbus and to Portsmouth New Hampshire, Chip and I were finally able to arrange a little visit to " the beautiful water in a high place" otherwise known as Lake Winnipesaukee.( or for fellow comedy fans...the lake that Bob Wiley goes to to see his therapist Dr. Leo Marvin)
Now, It has been a little less than two years since I have seen my Mom and Dan, so getting to see them and visit with them was exciting. We got to see many of New Hampshire's famous natural attractions by plains, trains, and automobile ( and trams). There were covered Bridges, lakes, water falls, mountains, mooses, and ocean. We were on the go...and really, there was no baby stepping.
We took around three hundered pictures because everything was just so beautiful. There is nothing like whitnessing God's artwork first hand, so we thought we might share with you some of the highlights.

Including a view of Nubble Light House, our train ride, Riding the Mt. Washington cruise, waterfalls, mountains, trams, mooses, lakes, fireworks, and lobster but to name a few. Truth be told there are way to many pictures to post them all here, but ask, and we would love to share them with you!!

<img style="float:left; Fortunatelly we finally got a brief but much needed break just in time for the Meyer family vacation. It is always a blessing to enjoy God's creation and what better place to do that than at the ocean!!! So we made the 12 hour drive to the Outer Banks traveling with Beth and Nick. We stayed overnight in Elizabeth City and enjoyed some pretty amazing fried seafood delights at a local restaurant there. The next morning we made the two hour journey down highway 12 to Captian's Quarters which has been the home that the family has stayed in for over 10 years.
The week was beautiful with amazing weather. We did a lot of beach sitting and swimming in the rather warm and calm ocean. Afew of us took an oppertunity to visit a local spa while we were there and I recieved my very first massage. Who ever knew pain could feel so good!!! Sign me up for the massages!! I am sold!!! I think most of the State of Ohio shut down and rightfully so. So...what did we do on the Hallmark celebrated day of love...we shovelled and pushed cars and walked and shovelled and pushed cars and walked!! Oh...the fun and excitement!! We did make some time for hot cocoa and coffee...then ended the night with a wonderfully designed dinner of porkchops and potatos and double layered chocolate cake with heathbar between the layers. Yummm!!!
We hope you all faired the weather well and enjoyed This Valentines Day.Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-74741745467294309422007-02-11T19:34:00.000-05:002007-01-31T20:23:57.392-05:00Old Testament InspirationChip and I love to watch movies. In an attempt to stay up on these movies, we joined Blockbusters Total Access. We signed up for a bunch of movies, one of which is titled " One Night With a King." Without knowing a whole lot about the movie, I thought I was renting an ancient love story and big surprise...it was one of the greatest love stories in The Old Testament, The Story of Esther. I am by no means a movie expert, but I really enjoyed seeing scripture played out in this Movie and it inspired me to return to the Scripture in the book of Esther.I hope you all get a chance to see the movie, and maybe even take some time and dive into Scripture yourself.Chip&Marciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12670297990169120997noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32296004.post-54328102117127673822007-01-29T15:22:00.000-05:002007-01-29T15:32:44.046-05:00My Best Friend's Getting Married!!!!Chip and I are both in a stupor of excitement for our dear friends Rachel and Brad!!
